How to check an Allianz-Țiriac carrier liability policy

On an Allianz-Țiriac CMR form, read “POLIȚA DE ASIGURARE” (insurance policy) and the “ASIGURAT” (insured) block, then the marked Standard or Optim package. Cabotage sits in the “Cabotaj” cell, not in the CMR title. Cash limits and the plate are on Anexa 1. You cannot look the file up by number online: confirm it through the contact page on allianztiriac.ro.

This is an independent Certica tutorial. It was not written or approved by Allianz-Țiriac. The document shown is not a live insurance policy.

What the document can confirm, and what it cannot

Check an Allianz-Țiriac policy in two stages. First read the document and compare it with the booking. If the rate, the cargo or the file looks wrong, send a request through the contact page on allianztiriac.ro or through the sales-representative finder on allianztiriac.ro/ro_RO/cauta-reprezentant-vanzari.html.

The screenshots are a Romanian Allianz-Țiriac form. Match the printed labels. Each Romanian field name in this walkthrough is followed by the English meaning in brackets.

OCP is the Polish label for carrier liability for goods in transit, also called CMR insurance or cargo liability. On an Allianz-Țiriac form the product line is “Asigurarea de răspundere a transportatorului în calitate de cărăuș pentru mărfurile transportate cu vehicule (C.M.R.)” (carrier liability for goods carried by road vehicles). It is not vehicle MTPL. Check Romanian plates in AIDA (RCA). Check Polish plates in UFG. A company record in ONRC is not carrier verification.

What the first page of an Allianz-Țiriac policy looks like

Numbers 1 to 5 on the graphic are the “POLIȚA DE ASIGURARE” title, the “ASIGURAT” (insured) block, the policy number with “Perioada Asigurată” (insured period), the Optim package grid with “Cabotaj” (cabotage), and “MENȚIUNI SPECIALE” (special mentions) with CCMR 02.2018. Step 6 is Anexa 1, the vehicle list. Step 7 is confirmation outside the document. The printed labels are in Romanian. Each step quotes those words and gives the English meaning in brackets.

How to check an Allianz-Țiriac carrier liability policy step by step

Step 1. Subject of insurance

On the first page find “Asigurarea de răspundere a transportatorului în calitate de cărăuș pentru mărfurile transportate cu vehicule (C.M.R.)” (carrier liability for goods carried by road vehicles, CMR). That title is not proof that cabotage was bought. Cabotage is bought in the “Cabotaj” (cabotage) cell of the Optim package.

Check that the file is a “POLIȚA DE ASIGURARE” (insurance policy), not only the “CERTIFICAT DE ASIGURARE / INSURANCE CERTIFICATE” from Anexa 2. The certificate does not show the Standard/Optim grid or the special mentions.

Step 2. Insured party

Find the blue block “ASIGURAT” (insured). Compare “Nume Prenume / Denumire” (name) and “CNP / CUI” (personal ID or Romanian company tax ID) with the contract and the current company record. CUI is the Romanian tax ID, the equivalent of a NIP.

Read “Județ / Sector” (county), “Localitate” (locality) and “Stradă” (street). A similar trading name is not enough. A policy issued to another group company or a previous business needs an explanation before loading.

This form has no separate policyholder box. Base the decision on ASIGURAT and CUI, not on the name in the email.

Step 3. Policy number and period

Copy “POLIȚA DE ASIGURARE Nr” (policy number) exactly as printed in the header. Next to it you may see “înlocuiește/reînnoiește polița nr.” (replaces or renews policy no.). That is the previous contract, not this policy number.

In “Perioada Asigurată” (insured period) the dates must cover loading, the journey and the planned unloading. Cover starts at 00:00 and ends at 24:00. “Emisă în data de” (issued on) does not replace the period.

Step 3: POLIȚA DE ASIGURARE Nr (policy number), issue date, replaced policy number and Perioada Asigurată (insured period) on a sample Allianz-Țiriac CMR policy

Step 4. Sum, territory and deductible

In “Pachete de asigurare” (insurance packages) read the column with the “X”. “Pachet selectat: Optim” (selected package: Optim) does not mean every optional line was bought. On this form “Avarierea/pierderea mărfii” (damage or loss of goods) and “Furt” (theft) are ticked. “Transport vehicule și utilaje” (carriage of vehicles and machinery) and “Transport mărfuri perisabile” (perishable goods) stay empty.

The “Cabotaj” (cabotage) cell has its own amount. On this form it prints 10.000. Zero in that cell means no cabotage, even when 8.33 DST is printed for national and international traffic.

The 8.33 DST (SDR) per kg line is the CMR weight limit. The cash cap sits in Anexa 1 as “Limita răspunderii” (limit of liability). In “MONEDA” (currency) limits and premium are in EUR, collection is in RON. Do not mix those two figures.

Step 4: Optim package, Cabotaj (cabotage) 10.000 and 8.33 DST on a sample Allianz-Țiriac CMR policy

Step 5. Cargo and clauses

Open “MENȚIUNI SPECIALE” (special mentions). On this form an extra deductible of 10% of the loss, minimum 1,000 EUR, applies when unauthorised persons enter or stay in the cargo compartment. That line is not the “Fransiza” (deductible) column on Anexa 1.

In “Documente părți integrate” (documents that form part of the policy) check the “X” next to “Condiții de asigurare CCMR 02.2018” (CMR conditions of 02.2018), “Anexa 1” and “Anexa 2”. A missing Anexa 1, or a certificate without the package grid, changes the reading of the whole scope.

On the Allianz-Țiriac product page, tobacco, valuables, cash, live animals, explosives and courier work sit outside CMR. An empty “Riscuri speciale” (special risks) line does not buy vehicles or perishable goods.

Step 6. Vehicles on Anexa 1

Open “Anexa 1 la polița de asigurare C.M.R.” (annex 1 to the CMR policy). The row has VIN, “Categorie Vehicul” (vehicle category), “Marca” (make), “Numar inmatriculare” (registration number), “Masa maxima” (maximum mass), “Limita raspunderii” (limit of liability), “Fransiza” (deductible) and the premium. On this form the category is “Autoutilitara < 3,5 t” (light goods vehicle under 3.5 t). A tractor or trailer not on that row is outside this contract.

Match the plate to the booking. The 20.000 EUR cap in that table is tighter than 8.33 DST on a heavy load. A “Fransiza 0” column does not cancel the special-mentions deductible on page 1.

Step 6: Anexa 1 vehicle list with Autoutilitara under 3.5 t and a 20.000 limit on a sample Allianz-Țiriac CMR policy
Sample fragment of an Allianz-Țiriac carrier liability policy. All names, numbers, values and cover details were changed for this tutorial.

Step 7. Official confirmation

Allianz-Țiriac has no public CMR search by number. Open allianztiriac.ro/ro_RO/persoane-fizice/despre-noi/contact.html. Find a representative on allianztiriac.ro/ro_RO/cauta-reprezentant-vanzari.html. Do not use a phone number that appears only in the carrier’s email.

In the IPID on allianztiriac.ro, cover starts only after the first instalment is paid. Missing that payment voids the contract from the issue date. A later unpaid instalment suspends cover after five days.

Limits most often missed on Allianz-Țiriac policies

The Standard package does not buy cabotage

The “Acoperiri” (cover) grid splits Standard and Optim. On the Allianz-Țiriac product page, cabotage is an Optim option. Standard can tick damage and theft and still print zero in “Cabotaj”.

Do not take the CMR title as cabotage cover. Read the marked column and the amount in the cell, then Anexa 2.

The certificate prints a separate EUR cabotage limit

Anexa 2 prints “Limita răspunderii” (limit of liability) and “Limita răspunderii pentru Cabotaj / Limit of liability for cabotage” as two amounts. On this form 20.000 EUR and 10.000 EUR.

Carriers often send only the certificate. Without page 1 you cannot see whether Optim was marked or whether the special mention raises the deductible.

Anexa 2 certificate: Limit of liability 20.000 EUR and Limit of liability for cabotage 10.000 EUR on a sample Allianz-Țiriac CMR policy
Sample fragment of an Allianz-Țiriac carrier liability policy. All names, numbers, values and cover details were changed for this tutorial.

Cover is tied to a vehicle row under 3.5 t

Anexa 1 ties cover to the VIN, the plate and the category. “Autoutilitara < 3,5 t” (light goods vehicle under 3.5 t) does not cover a set above 3.5 t. The IPID allows premium from a vehicle list or from turnover. This form uses the list.

A vehicle missing from the table, even from the same company, needs another row or another policy.

8.33 DST does not replace the 20.000 EUR cap

Page 1 repeats 8.33 DST per kg for national, international and cabotage traffic. Anexa 1 and the certificate print 20.000 EUR on this vehicle under 3.5 t. On a heavy load the cash cap ends cover first.

Do not copy 20.000 EUR onto cabotage. Cabotage has its own, lower amount.

Fransiza 0 on Anexa 1 does not cancel the special mention

The “Fransiza” (deductible) column on Anexa 1 can show 0. MENȚIUNI SPECIALE adds 10% of the loss, minimum 1,000 EUR, when unauthorised persons enter the cargo compartment.

On another copy the box can say “Fransiza 3% min 100 Eur”. Always read the box, not only the vehicle table.

Overnight parking over 60 minutes has an IPID condition

The Allianz-Țiriac CMR IPID requires a stop longer than 60 minutes between 20:00 and 06:00 to be in a freight parking area that is lit, guarded or video-watched.

The PDF does not show whether that condition holds on your route. Theft from a roadside lay-by still needs that rule, even when “Furt” (theft) is ticked in Optim.

What a PDF check does not confirm

How to read an Allianz-Țiriac policy is a different question from how to confirm that the contract is still current. The file lets you judge the declared scope. It does not open the insurer’s live record.

  • The PDF can be old, changed or incomplete.
  • A signature and a logo do not prove authenticity on their own.
  • A paid premium does not prove that the scope was not changed later.
  • CMR does not confirm vehicle MTPL, the ARR licence, VAT or the company status.
  • A final view on whether the cover is adequate may need a broker, the insurer or a lawyer.

Keep this in mind

The PDF alone does not prove that the contract was not later changed, cancelled or limited by an annex.

FAQ

Can I check an Allianz-Țiriac carrier liability policy online by number?

No. Allianz-Țiriac has no public CMR search by number. Request a copy or the contract terms through the contact page on allianztiriac.ro or through the sales-representative finder.

Is an Allianz-Țiriac carrier liability policy the same as vehicle MTPL?

No. CMR is carrier liability for the goods and the haul. Vehicle MTPL is compulsory motor cover. For Romanian plates check RCA in AIDA. For Polish plates check UFG.

Where is the sum insured on an Allianz-Țiriac policy?

The CMR 8.33 DST line is on the first page. The cash cap is Limita răspunderii (limit of liability) on Anexa 1 and on the Anexa 2 certificate. Cabotage has a separate Limita răspunderii pentru Cabotaj / Limit of liability for cabotage.

Which policy dates should I compare with the booking?

The dates in Perioada Asigurată (insured period) must cover the whole haul. The number next to înlocuiește/reînnoiește polița nr. is the previous contract, not this policy. The IPID ties the start of cover to payment of the first instalment.

Does the Allianz-Țiriac certificate replace reading the package?

No. Anexa 2 shows two limits and the vehicle. It does not show the Standard/Optim grid, the empty special-risk lines or the 10% deductible mention. You still need page 1 and Anexa 1 to judge cargo and cabotage.

What should I check before cabotage on an Allianz-Țiriac policy?

Check that the package is Optim, that the Cabotaj cell has an amount above zero and that Anexa 2 prints Limit of liability for cabotage. Then request confirmation on allianztiriac.ro.

How is Standard different from Optim on an Allianz-Țiriac policy?

Standard covers damage and theft, with optional loading and unloading. Optim adds optional cabotage and optional carriage of vehicles and perishable goods. The package name does not buy empty lines.
