UFG Poland Insurance Check | Verify Vehicle OC
Open the UFG infoportal, enter the plate, set the date of check and the country of registration, and confirm the human check. The result shows whether OC is active on that date, plus the policy number, insurer, and vehicle description tied to the plate. UFG does not return the policy holder name. Compare the policy number and insurer with the certificate you already have, and compare the vehicle description with the truck or trailer you expect. The check is free and takes about two minutes.

Key checks before you assign the load

How to check vehicle insurance in UFG step by step
The whole check runs on the UFG infoportal and does not need an account or login. Below are all the steps, from opening the page to saving the confirmation.
Step 1: open the vehicle insurance check on the UFG site
Go to UFG Infoportal/infoportal. The homepage has a short form with two options, registration number or VIN, and one field to fill in. Enter the plate and confirm, and the portal moves you to the full form with the remaining fields.
The form is written in claims-handling language, since it is also used by people involved in collisions. It is the same register and the same result you need for a carrier check.
Step 2: enter the plate and set the date of check
On the full form the plate is already carried over from the first screen. Next to it is a date field, filled in with today’s date by default. This field decides what you actually learn, since UFG answers a question about cover on a specific day, not in general.
If pickup is in three days, enter the pickup date. A policy can lapse between today’s check and the day the truck arrives, and a check run for today does not say anything about that later date.
Step 3: select the country of registration
The third field is a country list, set to Poland by default. For a Polish plate you leave it as it is.
The list also covers other European countries plus Ukraine, Turkey, and Moldova, so you can check a Romanian or Lithuanian plate in the same form. After you pick a country other than Poland, UFG also returns a claims representative, the entity that handles a claim in Poland for that foreign insurer.
Step 4: confirm you are not a robot and send the query
The second screen shows the plate, date, and country again, with one checkbox below them confirming a human is sending the request. Check it and wait a few seconds until it shows as confirmed, then submit the query.
If the query fails, run it again. A failed check is not the same as no insurance, and it is not a basis for accepting the carrier either way.
Step 5: read the UFG result
The result is shown as a letter. The date and query number sit at the top, the question text underneath, and the answer below that. If the vehicle has OC cover on the date you asked about, UFG lists the policy number, a vehicle description, and the name and address of the insurer.

Step 6: compare the result with the carrier’s documents
This step is where the check earns its value. Active cover on the plate is only half the answer, since it does not by itself confirm that the certificate you were emailed is genuine or describes this vehicle.
- Policy number from UFG against the number on the certificate. A difference means a different document or a different vehicle than you think.
- Insurer name from UFG against the header on the certificate. A mismatch is a sign of an outdated or altered scan.
- Make and model from UFG against the vehicle on the booking. A passenger car on a heavy freight lane means the wrong plate or a misrepresented vehicle.
- Date on the result against the pickup date. A confirmation from last month does not cover tomorrow’s load.
Step 7: download the confirmation and save it with the load
Below the result is a link to download the confirmation as a PDF. Download it and save it with the load file together with the date you checked.
The confirmation carries the query number and date, so it answers a later question from finance or an insurer about what was checked and when. A screenshot without a query number is a much weaker record.
What the check means
UFG (Ubezpieczeniowy Fundusz Gwarancyjny) is the Polish Motor Insurers Bureau portal. You look up a plate and get OC status plus the vehicle make and name returned for that plate.
That make and name is what you compare with the booking. If UFG shows a passenger car or something that does not look like the freight asset you were promised, pause. When a trailer plate is on the booking, run UFG for the trailer too. An insured tractor does not cover an uninsured trailer.

- Polish trucks must carry valid OC before they roll on public roads.
- Carriers may send cargo insurance PDFs while UFG shows no OC on the plate.

Limits of the check
- UFG covers mandatory OC, not cargo or CMR policies.
- Policy holder name is not returned; match contract party via KRS or CEIDG.
- Make and name still need a human eye when they do not clearly fit the booking.
- Portal errors need retry; a failed check should not mean approve.
- UFG does not validate transport licence; use KREPTD.
