ARR public register: check a Romanian licence by CUI
ARR (Autoritatea Rutieră Română) is Romania’s official road transport licence register. Search the operator by CUI on booking day, confirm a valid transport licence for the entity you contract with, and read international goods capacity when your lane crosses borders. When you have plates, also confirm the vehicle copy-of-conformity in ARR. An active CUI in ANAF is not the same as a valid ARR haulage licence.

How to check an ARR Romanian transport licence step by step
This is the same public search anyone can run at ARR public register. No account or fee is required.
Step 1: open the ARR public licence search
Go to ARR public register. The page opens on the transport operator search, with one field for the company CUI, the Romanian tax identification number.
There is no login. If the CUI you have includes the RO prefix, try the digits alone first if a search with the prefix returns nothing.
Step 2: enter the CUI and run the search
Type the CUI of the company you want to check and submit. ARR returns a result row if that CUI is listed as a road transport operator.
If nothing comes back in the operator list, the same CUI can still appear in the separate intermediary register on the same site. An intermediary is not an asset-carrying transport operator, so note which list actually matched.
Step 3: read the licence number and validity dates
Open the matched row to see the licence number, its validity window, and whether ARR currently marks it as valid. Compare the end date to your pickup date, not to today.
The same row shows the international goods licence count. Zero on a cross-border lane is a reason to ask before you release cargo details, since a domestic-only line does not cover international haulage.
Step 4: check the vehicle copy of conformity when you have a plate
If you have the tractor or trailer plate, open the matched operator card on ARR public register and check whether that plate appears with a valid certified copy. There is no reliable public plate-only search URL today, so if the plate is missing from the operator view, ask the carrier for a dated certified-copy document.
A missing or expired copy for the plate you were given is worth a direct question to the carrier before you confirm the booking.
Step 5: save the result with the date
ARR does not email a confirmation, so a screenshot or print of the result, saved with the date you checked it, is your own record of what the register showed on booking day.

Red flags and common mistakes
No ARR operator entry for the CUI
The contracting entity does not appear as a licensed road transport operator. Pause before cargo details go out.

Licence expired or inactive
Hard stop until a current ARR line covers the pickup date.
