How to verify a Slovak carrier before assigning a load

To verify a Slovak carrier, check ORSR for companies or ZRSR for sole traders, JISCD for community licences, and SKP when you have plates for insurance. Confirm VIES on the IČ DPH and compare email to register address on booking day.

Key checks before you assign the load

  • ORSR for companies: directors, shareholders, deletion dates.
  • ZRSR for sole traders when ORSR has no record.
  • JISCD community licence validity and vehicle counts.
  • SKP insurance with plates.
  • VIES on Slovak VAT ID.
  • Email and domain versus ORSR or ZRSR address.

What to check on a Slovak transport company

Slovak companies sit in ORSR; sole traders in ZRSR. Many carriers are jednoosobové podniky checked only in ORSR, get a hit, and skip ZRSR entirely. JISCD community licence data is a separate answer.

How to check the main registers step by step

Run these on booking day and keep a screenshot or PDF in your load file.

Step 1: check the company in ORSR by IČO

Open ORSR and search by IČO for companies. If there is no hit, open ZRSR for sole traders. ZRSR asks you to wait for and confirm an ALTCHA challenge before the search runs.

ORSR shows Obchodné meno, Sídlo, IČO, Deň zápisu, Právna forma, Predmet podnikania, Spoločníci, and Štatutárny orgán. The extract is informative only.

Compare the legal name against the invoice and contract entity.

Step 2: check the community licence in JISCD by IČO

Open JISCD public carrier overview and search the operator by IČO. The public overview needs no login.

Read Vydané povolenia (Číslo povolenia, Dátum vydania, Typ dopravy, Platnosť, Počet vozidiel nad/do 3,5t, Vedúci dopravy) and Vydané licencie (Číslo licencie, Platnosť, Počet overených kópii).

An active ORSR entry with no JISCD licence record is a reason to clear before cargo details go out.

Step 3: check VAT status in VIES by IČ DPH

Open VIES and search the IČ DPH.

VIES confirms active status and returns the registered name for that VAT ID.

Match the name against ORSR or ZRSR and the invoice.

What else to look for in the remaining registers

Beyond the main steps above, run these additional checks before you commit to the load.

  • ORSR by IČO at hladaj_ico.asp: Obchodné meno, Sídlo, Právna forma, Spoločníci, Štatutárny orgán (informative only).
  • ZRSR at ZRSR when ORSR has no hit: wait for and confirm the ALTCHA challenge before search.
  • JISCD: Vydané povolenia and Vydané licencie validity, vehicle counts, Vedúci dopravy.
  • VIES active status and name match to ORSR or ZRSR and invoice.
  • SKP (plate): MTPL insurer on provided plates.

Slovak IČO and VAT formats

  • IČO: 8 digits for ORSR companies and JISCD licence lookup.
  • IČ DPH: SK prefix plus 10 digits for VIES; must match ORSR or ZRSR name.
  • ORSR deletion or striking-off date ends the company regardless of email domain age.
  • SK plate format required for SKP MTPL bureau lookup.

What ORSR or ZRSR alone does not prove

  • Valid JISCD community licence and vehicle copy counts.
  • SKP insurance on booked plates without plate numbers.
  • That a sole trader was searched in ZRSR when ORSR returned no row.
  • Transport manager name where JISCD publishes one.

Example mismatch on Slovak lanes

ORSR shows active s.r.o. Forwarder skips ZRSR because ORSR returned data. JISCD actually lists licence under a related sole trader IČO from an older corporate structure. Invoice name does not match JISCD operator. Clearing requires reading both registers and JISCD operator name.

Documents to request from the carrier

Slovak carriers often attach JISCD PDFs without IČO header and ORSR extracts without deletion date column. Request screenshots with IČO and status visible.

  • ORSR or ZRSR confirmation dated to booking day.
  • JISCD licence extract or screenshot for the operator IČO.
  • VIES printout for the invoice VAT number.
  • Insurance policy when plates are not yet available.
  • Contract on the legal name shown in ORSR or ZRSR.

Email and domain checks

Slovak rate emails frequently use freemail while JISCD shows multi-vehicle community licence. That combination needs confirmation through an independently found or previously confirmed contact channel, not automatic approval.

  • Domain age versus ORSR registration or ZRSR start date.
  • Email domain matches .sk or company site tied to register seat.
  • Freemail on an operator JISCD shows as multi-vehicle needs review.
  • Confirm contact through an independently found or previously confirmed channel, not only the load-board thread.

Limits of a Slovak carrier check

JISCD vehicle counts should be compared with fleet story in email. Large gap may mean subcontracting without disclosure.

  • ORSR and ZRSR cover legal status, not payment history.
  • SKP MTPL check needs plates.
  • JISCD vehicle counts should align with the fleet size claimed in email.
  • Resolving IČO from DIČ may be needed: run checks on booking day.

Red flags and common mistakes

ORSR active but JISCD shows no licence

May indicate a broker or expired operator rights. Clear before cargo details go out.

ZRSR cancellation date set but carrier still bidding

Trader registration ended. Stop until you understand who holds the licence.

SKP record missing when plates were provided

Requires review. Confirm insurance with the carrier before loading.

JISCD vehicle count far below claimed fleet size

Could mean subcontracting or misrepresentation. Ask who hauls your load.

When you do not want to repeat this for every load

Send IČO, country SK, email, and plates. Certica routes sole traders through ZRSR when ORSR has no match, then JISCD and SKP.

  • JISCD vehicle count and transport manager exposed as structured fields.
  • ZRSR cancellation dates compared with active booking threads.
  • SKP MTPL tied to provided SK plates in the same run.
